If at any point during therapy it becomes apparent to either of us that a different service or additional services are needed, I can provide you with a list of services for you to explore or, if you like, assist you in researching and locating the right services for you.  I am most familiar with the mental health and community services in Vancouver, but would be willing to assist you in researching services if you live outside of the Vancouver area. 

individual counselling

I provide individual counselling tailored to your needs, in person or via telephone or Skype, in English or in Spanish.  Together, we will assess what is working for you in your life and where you want to make changes.  If there are changes you have been trying to make and have been feeling stuck or helpless, we will sort out together what is getting in the way of you making the changes you want for yourself, and how to address those barriers. For some people, insight-oriented therapy is what is needed, for some the focus is more on building skills for pain management, relaxation, emotion regulation, stress management or interpersonal skills. For most people, a combination of insight and skill building is most effective.  Therapy can be helpful in addressing a wide range of issues, including: 

  • Depression
  • Postpartum depression
  • Anxiety
  • Sleep disorders
  • Trauma
  • Grief and loss
  • Career change
  • ​Family conflict
